Rafał Dutkiewicz
Rafal Dutkiewicz graduated from Wroclaw University of Technology, Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology, major - Applied Mathematics. He defended his doctoral thesis in formal logic (research on Betha's method of semantic tables), at the Faculty of Christian Philosophy of the Catholic University of Lublin. Since the late 1970s, he was associated with the democratic opposition. During martial law, he was a Solidarity activist. In 1989, he became secretary of the Wroclaw "Solidarity" Civic Committee, and in 1990 became its chairman. He was co-organizer of the first Weeks of Christian Culture in Wroclaw and chairman of the Adam Mickiewicz Scholarship Society.
In 2002 he became the first mayor of Wroclaw to be directly elected. He served in office continuously for four terms until 2018. As of April 2019, he was in Berlin with the elite Richard von Weizsäcker Academy at the invitation of the Bosch Foundation. He was one of the few foreign guests to receive the honor of speaking, as a guest of honor, at the Bundestag during Memorial Day - one of Germany's major public holidays.
He is currently involved with several startups dealing with cutting-edge trends in food production.
He is a member of the Council of the University of Wroclaw, and for many years was also a member and then an honorary member of the Senate of the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv. He has been awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2009) and the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2015).
In March 2023 Rafal Dutkiewicz took over as President of the Employers of Poland.
