Maciej Legutko

Department of International Cooperation

Graduate in international relations at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow (specialisation: diplomacy). Holder of an Erasmus scholarship at the University of Antwerp.

Worked in the Marshal's Office of the Małopolska Region, where in the international cooperation team he was responsible for relations with partner regions from China (Jiangsu Province), India (Andhra Pradesh State) and Iraq (Iraqi Kurdistan).

He then worked at the representation of Iraqi Kurdistan in Poland, where, first as secretary and then as director of the post, he was responsible for the development of political, economic, scientific and cultural relations between Poland and Iraqi Kurdistan. He led to the conclusion of a number of bilateral agreements between political and economic institutions and universities from both countries. Participant and organiser of scientific conferences, seminars and cultural events on Middle East issues.

His research interests include the impact of climate change on international relations and the migration policy of Poland and the EU.

Husband, father of two sons, privately a lover of football, swimming and mountain hiking.
