He is an electrical engineer by education. After graduation, he worked in the USA and Canada. After returning to Poland, between 1994 and 2006, he worked at Hewlett-Packard Poland, where he held the position of President of the Management Board for the last eight years. Afterwards, he became the President of the Management Board of Oracle Poland.

In September 2013, he became Vice President of Asseco Poland S.A. responsible, among other things, for the holding company Asseco Systems S.A., which in January 2016 started operating as Asseco Data Systems S.A., combining 6 companies from the Asseco Group. Andrzej Dopierała serves as a president of the management board of this one of the largest IT companies in Poland. The electronic signature and digital trust services business remains under his direct supervision. At the same time, at Asseco Poland, he is vice-president of the management board responsible for, among other things, the defence sector and cyber security solutions.
