On January 30, 2024, together with the British Embassy in Poland we organised business breakfast ‘Expansion to the UK’. The event was attended by almost forty guests from companies, organisations, state agencies and law firms.

Participants of the breakfast learnt about the opportunities offered by entering the UK market. They were informed about how to prepare for investment and what mistakes to avoid in order to achieve success. The panellists also spoke about how the rules of trade and investment in the UK have changed after Brexit.

At the beginning of the event, the guests were welcomed by the President of Employers of Poland Rafal Dutkiewicz and Ambassador Anna Clunes. The second part of the breakfast consisted of three speeches:

• Expansion to the UK with the support of the UK government (by Bartosz Koziński and Sandra Piotrowska from British Embassy)

• How to set up a business in the UK — a tax and legal perspective (by Piotr Kubalka — CEO at J. Dauman Group)

• How Brexit has affected trade and investment between Poland and the UK (by Natalia Kot from British Embassy)

At the end of the official part of the meeting, a discussion took place. Entrepreneurs shared their opinions on the problems facing companies planning to enter the British market. The business breakfast ended with networking.
