At the invitation of the British Embassy, we took part in a round table of entrepreneurs. At this event, new UK border control rules, which are important from the point of view of Polish companies, were presented.
"Industry Roundtable" at the British Embassy on the new border control rules.
On 11 March 2024, we participated in an 'Industry Roundtable'. It was attended by representatives of British authorities from the Cabinet Office and DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs), as well as representatives of Polish business associations and industry associations. Employers of Poland were represented at the event by Maciej Legutko- Director of the Department of International Cooperation.
The main topic of the meeting was the presentation of the so-called Border Target Operating Model. This is a new border control mechanism being introduced in three rounds by the UK authorities in 2024. The BTOM aims to speed up and simplify border control. The changes are mainly relevant for the agri-food and transport sectors.
The Embassy prepared information packs on BTOM for the participants of the meeting. It has also launched a special email address. Organisations that participated in the Industry Roundtable will be able to ask questions about the new control rules through this email.
We have sent out information material from the meeting to all members of Employers of Poland affected by the new mechanism and informed them of the e-mail address for raising their questions.
