Delegation of Employers of Poland at General Assembly of SGI Europe
On December 6, 2023, at the headquarters of the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels General Assembly of SGI Europe took place. It is a European association representing enterprises which carry out services of general interest. Employers of Poland has been a member of the organisation since 2003. SGI Europe is one of the three cross-industry social partners on European level, recognized by the European Commission. Employers of Poland were represented at the event by Janusz Pietkiewicz and Maciej Legutko. The SGI Europe General Assembly is held twice a year.
At the General Assembly, after a debate with the active participation of representatives of Employers of Poland, two documents were adopted. These will form the basis of SGI Europe's activities for the next five years: „Key Priorities for 2024-2029” and “Growth & Development Plan 2024-2029”. Among the priorities were the development of social dialogue at EU level, adaptation to labour market shortages or energy and health crises.
An important fact from the point of view of Employers of Poland was the unanimous re-election of Jacek Cieplak, Vice President of Employers of Poland, as Vice President of SGI Europe. In 2024, Employers of Poland plans to further increase its activity in SGI Europe, especially in terms of legislative monitoring at the EU level for the needs of our members.
